Unit 1 Task 5.2 - Soul of Communication

Based on the article "Critical Thinking: The Soul of Effective Communication", effective communication will impact the way we influence and persuade the circle of people we engage with.

As future leaders in the workplace, the message from the leader has to reach every individual to steer clear of miscommunication, which is what happened in the company. Any company has to ensure that important information reaching the right employees is a crucial part of every internal communication strategy.

For leaders to get people to do things, it is emotional and people have to feel something in order to do something rather than be instructed constantly which will not develop a healthy working relationship. If our message did not get through to every employee, miscommunication can happen between employees themselves. Conflict or tension may rise and this may affect the overall quality of the workplace.

While communication is important, critical thinking is essential for leaders. They must also be able to evaluate their decision-making and how these decisions ultimately impact results. The way of thinking will reflect in how they communicate with others. Ultimately, critical thinking and effective communication are traits of a leader.
